One can argue that this world has given rise to many worlds within itself. There was the Adamic era, the time of giants, the cataclysm of the flood that required Noah’s Ark, and more recently, the seismic shifts brought about by World War I, World War II, and COVID-19.
Despite their differences, these epochs share one defining characteristic: the introduction of radical change. With Noah, all flesh outside the Ark perished, making him a forefather to the species that repopulated the Earth. World War I reshaped borders, shattered empires, and redefined global alliances, while World War II introduced America as a world power, fractured Europe, and gave rise to the United Nations—a global mechanism for conflict resolution and peace.
And COVID-19? That one’s a bit closer to home. It did more than disrupt economies or force governments to rethink public health—it redefined the way we live. Remote work, once a niche concept, became a global standard. It taught us that our physical presence isn’t always required for impact, introducing the era of remote living. Today, it’s almost a reflex to ask if something can be done remotely before committing to a physical space.
At the forefront of this shift, unlike the brute force of past disruptions, is a new kind of force—Creatives.
Who are Creatives?
The question itself has birthed an entire industry, sparked self-discovery in some, and caused others to question their own talents. It’s even given rise to a distinctive fashion style, as diverse and unpredictable as the minds it represents. At its core, though, a creative person is someone who brings new ideas, solutions, or concepts to life across various fields. They are the dreamers, the thinkers, the ones who see what others overlook.
But before we define this industry, let’s go back to the beginning. In the book of Genesis, God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.” Had He stopped at ‘image,’ we might all be mere reflections without the capacity for original thought. But likeness? That’s the spark. That’s the invitation to create, to innovate, to shape the world around us.
With this in mind, creativity is not just a profession, it’s a birthright. It’s why a surgeon seeks new ways to save lives, an engineer imagines towering structures where others see empty space, and a chef invents flavors no one has tasted before. We are all creative, but some choose to take it a mile further.
The Creatives.
They are the writers, filmmakers, designers, musicians, artists, and innovators—the architects of what we now call the Creative Industry. They don’t just observe the world; they mold it. They craft narratives, design futures, and build worlds that push humanity forward. They are the pioneers of this era of change.
There’s so much more to say about these people—their work, their impact, and how they are reshaping culture as we know it. Stay tuned. Next week, I’ll dive deeper into who they are, what they do, and how they’re shifting the world to fit their narratives.
Till then, subscribe, like, comment, and share this with ten other people. Let’s keep this conversation going.
