Creating Imperfections.
I create anyway.
Mo ti foro mi f’Oluwa
Ko sho, ko sho wa
Mo ti foro mi f’Oluwa
Ko sho, ko sho wa.
This means, “I’ve given full charge to God over everything that concerns me because He will take care of it.”
Creativity is a branch of divinity—if not divinity itself. It’s our opportunity to become like God, a medium through which we become creators. And because creativity mirrors divinity, every creative journey follows the same pattern as the creation process.
Let me refresh your memory.
God had created the world, then the devil was kicked out of Heaven. When he crashed onto Earth, he turned it into a complete mess. Darkness. Chaos. Emptiness.
God came to see the ruins, but He didn’t walk away. He wore His thinking cap, put on some gloves, and The Trinity cooked for seven days.
MOTHER EARTH was birthed.
STAGES OF CREATION
The first step in every creative process is idea conception. Then comes execution. But between these two is a crucial phase—scrutiny. Growth doesn’t happen in isolation. You need people who will challenge your work, question your choices, and highlight the things you need to refine.
Some creators never move beyond this phase. Ego inflates them.
"I did something remarkable for crying out loud! Who is this client with little knowledge of creativity to tell me to switch colors???"
It should go without saying, but it must be said: Your response to feedback determines your growth.
When your work is criticized, you have two choices—cling to pride or embrace refinement. Shedding ego is part of the creative process, just as much as the art itself.
BROODING OVER THE RIVER
God stood over the ruins of the Earth and took it all in. He saw what it was, what it had become, and what it could be—if He put in the work. And boy, did He put in some work! He cooked so beautifully that even the devil had to admit it was good.
Before you create, visualize. See it first.
It starts in the mind, and then onto the pages of your planner. If you begin creating with just a vague framework in your head, you’ll never fully birth what’s inside you.
EXECUTION! EXECUTION!! EXECUTION!!!
Every creative faces three adversaries—Perfection, Inferiority Complex, and Procrastination. Unlike The Trinity, these three stand against creation.
They whisper, "It's not good enough yet," "Who are you to create this?" "You can always start tomorrow...”
Yes, we just finished receiving feedback. Yes, we just visualized the new direction. So what are you waiting for? You should be writing, painting, designing—creating—but somehow, you hold yourself back.
Let me tell you the truth. You will never be perfect.
And that’s okay.
The creators before you weren’t perfect. The ones making waves today are doing so by embracing their imperfections. The ones who will come after you will be the ones who tell themselves:
"I AM NOT PERFECT, BUT I WILL CREATE ANYWAY."
At the end of your creative journey, when you look back at your work, just like God, you should be able to say—
“It is good.”
THE CREATOR'S PATH Before the void, before the light, Creation stirred within the night. A thought took form, a spark was new, A masterpiece before it grew. But doubt and fear stood in the way, Yet hands still moved, they would not stay. And when the work was finally viewed, The voice declared—"It is good."
